Volume 1 covers Central Belsize. Both volumes of The Belsize Story are narrated by Belsize Park resident Fiona Bruce.
Combining its fascinating historical background with a present-day architectural tour, The Belsize Story records the evolution of Belsize right up to the present day, featuring the buildings, the settings and most importantly, its people.
The areas of central and greater Belsize are captured in two volumes, taking care to include plenty of close-up architectural details as well as recording conversations with local residents and other expert contributors. Both volumes are directed and photographed by award-winning filmmaker David S Percy who lived as a child in Manor Mansions, on the corner of Belsize Grove and Belsize Park Gardens NW3.
"My congratulations for a film which has impressed everyone I have shown it to here at English Heritage."
– Professor Andrew Saint, English Heritage
"The documentary gives a wonderful account of the history of the village, its architecture, its shops and its residents and community. It is very informative and engaging with as a bonus Fiona Bruce’s voice (excellent choice). Having lived in the Belsize Village and enjoyed its neighbourhood for over 15 years, the movie only reinforces how beautiful Belsize Park is and how privileged we are to reside in this part of London.
