Belsize Village in the snow – March 2018

Belsize Village Snow

Stones for Nazanin
Please ask family, friends and local schools to paint a pebble for Nazanin
and place it on the Belsize Garden Outside Euphorium Haverstock Hill

Sunday 11 March was three months since the Foreign Secretary went to Iran. To mark this event we invited friends of the campaign to join us in painting stones, as we gently reminded Boris Johnson of his promise "to leave no stone unturned" in his fight to bring Nazanin home.

Fantastic News! 13.10. 17 Application Dropped!

Our neighbours have decided to drop both Appeals and both Planning Applications for their proposed basement development! We are so relieved and so incredibly thankful to all of you who have supported us over the last couple years.

Every musician, artist, composer, client, music fan, engineer, producer, the local community, film and TV company, record label, other recording studios, local government, other government agencies, industry bodies and all our brilliant staff – Your efforts have played such a huge part in helping to get to this resolution. We cannot thank you enough!

Currently there is nothing to stop new applications of a similar nature but if they do we hope we can count on your future support if required. We will of course update you all with more news as and when we get it. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you! You have been amazing.

Air Studios

AIR Studios relocated in 1992 to the beautiful Lyndhurst Hall on the corner of Rosslyn Hill and Lyndhurst Road and named it AIR Lyndhurst. Due to the potential disruption form building/ basement pool work next door AIR Studios may have to close for six months and may never reopen. So the studio has hired top lawyer David Cooper who has sent an official letter of objection to Camden.

Belsize Park Newspaper Seller's Kiosk Saved

Nurul Islam celebrates at his Belsize Park kiosk. The popular vendor who runs the Belsize Park newspaper kiosk thanked his customers for pressuring Camden Council into doing a u-turn over the rent hike which threatened his business.

Nurul Islam had said he would no longer be able to run the business after the council doubled his rent. He would have been forced to shut down the kiosk he has run outside Belsize Park Tube Station for 13 years. Full story >

Belsize Village is Under Threat

The Village is under threat of losing yet another community asset following the closure of XO in Belsize Lane. Belsize Village is proud to be home to many local independent businesses. We do not need or want any more development in our beautiful village.

The Village most certainly does not want to lose another local business to a faceless corporation. Please help to keep our local businesses as they have been – an integral part of our community. Please Sign the Petition
